Unseen Heroes, founded in 2008 began as an event and creative agency committed to providing “unforgettable experiences” to Sacramento. Since then, we’ve not only developed our own successful in-house brands and events like GATHER, NeighborGood Markets, and Display: California, but we’ve been blessed to work with both new small businesses and high-profile clients throughout the region (and beyond) to develop their brands, tell stories, engage the community and create inclusive spaces to celebrate and connect.

We’re a small, scrappy crew, but we love what we do! The Unseen Heroes retail concept, DISPLAY: CA is our flagship location for lifestyle & gifting products — California made + California inspired. Our mission is simple: put a little bit of California in every home. 

Located in the heart of the Oak Park neighborhood in Sacramento, we rely on designers, creators, and artists to bring you unique expressions of California. We always begin our search for products directly from our neighborhood in Sacramento, CA, and then expand beyond. We are all about California. We live it, breathe it, and most of all… we support it.

Who You Are

You are a self-starting go-getter with a passion & dedication to the community of Sacramento and an obsession with social media and content creation. You take pride in your customer service skills and get excited about talking about (and selling) sustainable ethical California-made products. You are organized, can effectively problem solve, and have excellent communication and time management skills.


Especially seeking BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and folx from other historically marginalized communities. Artists and Creators are also strongly encouraged.

What You Will Do

Our company is actively seeking a motivated Social Engagement/Retail Sales Associate to work closely with our Brand Manager to help generate social media presence and online sales, while providing quality customer service with sales goals in mind.


Retail Sales

  • Achieve daily sales goals by offering friendly and approachable sales guidance for customers that stay in line with Brand Expectations.

  • Knowledgeable about all products, brands/makers, and their stories

  • Daily cleaning and overall maintenance of the store, including but not limited to: dusting, sweeping, moping, watering plants, and participating in deep cleans monthly.

  • Comfortable navigating POS system, Shopify.

  • Daily replenishment of products and maintaining merchandising standards.

  • Follow the proper shift procedures, including but not limited to: filling out open/close reports and deposits, and ensuring all closing procedures are completed to operational standards.

Social Engagement

  • Stay up to date on all social media applications

  • Working with the Brand Manager to curate and execute a social media calendar based on products, brand stories, and events.

  • Social Media Store product updates (Insta/FB/TikTok)

  • Weekly customer-facing emailer creation


  • Retail sales/customer service experience

  • Social media experience

  • Passion for California made products, culture, and community

  • Excellent time management skills 

  • Great communication and customer service skills

  • Must be able to work in an energetic, fast-paced environment.

  • Self-starter, creative thinker, problem solver

  • Must be detail-oriented

  • Basic knowledge of graphic design is helpful but not essential

  • Physical ability to lift 20lbs

Part Time


Starting at $15 per hour with commission thresholds


Self-directed regular social media engagement 6+ hrs per week. In-store sales shifts wed-sun 8+ hrs per week.
